Burdette pulls off upset win

Stanford junior Nicole Gibbs gets the chance to play her idol after beating Thailand's Noppawan Lertcheewakarn, 6-4, 6-4, in the first round of the Bank of the West Classic at Taube Tennis Center on Tuesday. Her next opponent? None other than reigning Wimbledon champion Serena Williams, the Classic's top seed and the world's fourth-ranked player.

Serena is well past the point where she is only "arguably one of the best who ever took the court." She is CLEARLY one of the best who ever took the court, and she is arguably the best ever to take the court.
