Ooooh, guest, you'd better watch out! There's a frequent commenter who'll come after you for potentially harming a business by posting speculative theories - you're supposed to take the business owner at their word, you know, and not be suspicious that they may not be telling the public the whole story about their business.

No way Kepler can bring back the 60s when books were King. He might make it as a coffee shop/computer center.

Sorry to disappoint the area's ghouls. Kepler's is indeed remodeling. It was bought out several months ago, and will reopen at the end of summer with the same name, different business model. Construction work begins in early July.

It is amazing that PA has only one book store

The small but very good on in Town and Country Village.

Even the last 2nd hand book store on California Ave is closing

Apart TCV we use the Stanford Book Store on campus-

-we like to browse before we buy-.

You wrote that "we like to browse before we buy." I hope you don't JUST browse at local bookstores, then actually buy all of your books online. That is why local bookstores are disappearing.

Sorry Mr./Ms. "Just Guessing" --- you're guessing is just plain wrong.

This news story again is NOT a fabrication. The store has a new owner. His new business model is behind the remodeling of the written business plan and the physical appearance of the store. Over the last several months, Kepler's has reduced it's old stock and ordered more to support the new store model.
