Its sad that people in cars kill so many other people.

RIP Ma'am.

She was walking on the sidewalk, right? What a tragedy. I bet the car driver was driving down the driveway and saw a gap in the car traffic to their left then gunned it without even thinking of looking for pedestrians on the sidewalk directly in front of them. An 80 year old woman is likely moving around 1mph and would be easily visible to anyone who even glances in her direction, especially wearing the colorful clothes described in this article.

I hope that some witnesses were able to comfort the woman at the scene before she passed away.

Mr. Roadshow in the Mercury-News just had 2 days of articles on yielding to pedestrians. Unfortunately, not enough people read newspapers anymore.

I am sorry for the pain of each and every person involved. Directly, indirectly, family, friends, witnesses.

Gas kills people.
