Thank god the union's strong-arm political tactics lost. Special interest monopolies like Wisconsin's unions control the Democratic Party.
Just look at the California version - Jerry Brown forcing High Speed Rail down our throat to reward the union bosses whose money and coat-tails he road into office.
Can we recall the Moonbeam? whose got a recall petition?

I used to be opposed to Unions, thinking it was protectionism for incompetents.
It most certainly is.
However, the error in my thinking was assuming that Management is competent and rational. When that is not the case, you need all the help you can get.
If, due to Unions, some incompetent employees are retained, well, where is the accountability for the Managers who hired them in the first place?

Won't it be wonderful when we are like China, and the 1%ers are even richer while the rest of us earn $2 / hours, working 60+ hours a week, with no rules whatsoever for job safety, and with no benefits ?

Actually, America is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Democracy is 6 Lions and 4 sheep voting on dinner plans...our Constitutional Republic is 6 lions and 4 well-armed sheep voting on dinner plans. ( and presumably the 3 branches of our Fed Govt, WH, Congress and Supreme Court defending the individual rights enumerated by our Constitution of the sheep).
Walker "recall" was a foregone conclusion, the guy did what he was elected to do, the State is heading in the right direction financially, no teachers lost their jobs, etc. It was a tremendous waste of time and money from people who never learned the meaning of "no". In the meantime, the Sheep ( taxpayers) won (again).
I suggest a course on our Constitution by Hillsdale College. It is free, take it. Find their link and sign up.

There is compelling evidence that all of these Twitter postings were done by Republicans, to make the democrats look bad. Of course the other question is how would the website in the link know who made those tweets and what their party affiliation is unless......

I think the Dems are so emotionally crushed that they will resort to almost anything, including murder. Some Dems have a real mean streak in them. The police need to investigate, intensively. These threats cannot be taken lightly.
It is time for an Obama tolerance speech in Wisconsin, if he wants to unite the nation, and provide hope.

That is not what is stated in the article you linked us too. But do not let facts get in the way of your postings.

Get back to me when you find out who really made those postings. Meanwhile you have republican ministers saying gays should be killed. Who has the mean streak???
These "threats" will be looked into by the police and when they are proven to have come from Republican operatives Dave/Sharon will be singing a different tune.

Why waste time--the republicans have made it clear that they are not interested in tolerance or working with Obama towards the greater good of all people. The republicans have a mean streak in them.
Sharon/Dave need to look at the real facts--this election was more about using the recall proces sto punish a sitting governor, which the people thought was a waste of money. In addition, the majority of voters said they would vote for Obama in November. Plus the Democrats took back control of the state Senate.

First, your 10:1 Walker:No Walker spending is bogus. It ignores the Union spending, the unpaid for newspaper propoganda, and the out of State organizing and money ( think of the organizing and money from VA Tim Kaine against Walker..in ANOTHER STATE).

Second: Even if it were true, GREAT. We vote with our wallets. Somehow it was great when Obama got millions of folks to donate $, and break the bank on campaign finance ( as well as his promise to stay with public financing).
THAT was not "plutocracy" but this is? I am all for your modern definition of plutocracy.If 50 million of us each send in $25 to whomever we support, that is the only way to defeat the mandatory billions collected by Union Leaders from their enslaved union members ( "pay up or don't work!!!"). If we band together, it is our only hope against the free propaganda of the newspapers and ABC/NBC/CNN, Union payments, and entrenched government parasites.
It is one of the few ways we have left to defeat the powerful.

Sam: No thanks. I have no desire to be one of the 50% to pay taxes to finance a socialist or communist doing a populist run to the 50% who pay nothing.
No. I prefer to let any of us donate to whomever we wish, not have every Tom, Dick and Harriet get my tax money to run a campaign against my interests.
We get what we pay for. We got what people supported in 2008...and we will get what people support in 2012.

Sam's correct. For the record, I wasn't moaning about Walker winning, I was commenting that with that kind of lopsided spending , it was a foregone conclusion. The polls didn't change for three months - Walker never varied form 50%, mostly due to the avalanche of TV ads since December. 30 million buys a non-stop blanket of media in such a small market as Wisconsin. Side note - the media , specifically TV stations in WI, will have record profits this year.
I was stunned by the record amounts of cash - cash that comes with strings attached.

No. We get what the unions and the billionaires pay for. Your hundred buck donation and my fifty bucks mean nothing. You said above that unions donate billions (wrong, but go with it for the sake of discussion). The Koch brothers have declared they will donate $400 million in just this cycle.
You and I mean NOTHING compared to either of those behemoths.
Who do you want the politicians to owe for their job? Owe you and I as voters, or owe a union boss some "favors" or owe an oil company some tax subsidies? Owe a Koch, or a Soros? Or you?
You ARE funding the elections right now, just with the handouts to oil companies (maybe $4 billion a year) or the pensions and wages to unions that outrage you.
Much cheaper to offer a public finance system, couple it with requirements and restrictions on media outlets providing low cost advertising in exchange for public license and public airwave use.
Politicians do it for the money; call them what you will.
I prefer:
1. reduce the cost of elections in a public finance scenario by mandating lower costs for TV (the main cost component) via the public commons (airwaves)
2. qualified candidates who choose the public financing route get funded by the public and do not owe eitherr unions or corporations, rather they owe us.
It's not a left or right thing. It works in blue Maine (where republicans love it) and red Arizona (where libs love it). In both states - the public loves it.
Who does not love it? Not our current incumbents at either the sate or federal level.
