[Web Link Theater: 'The Knight of the Burning Pestle']

Innuendos abound in the show-within-a-show farce "The Knight of the Burning Pestle," a "mash-up of 17th-century nonsense" being presented by the Foothill College Theatre Arts Department through June 10 in the Lohman Theatre, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. This adaptation of the Francis Beaumont comedy tells the tale of a rough-around-the-edges grocer who is disappointed by a play he's seeing, and decides to rush the stage and cast his apprentice instead.

Several authors who contributed to "Exit Laughing: How Humor Takes the Sting Out of Death," a collection of 24 personal stories, will speak at 7 p.m. tomorrow, May 31, at Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park.

as i should know, being in community theatre such as the production at Foothill College is a real commitment of time and energy. just go to see the show and it will probably be a positive experience. keplers store has been around for such a long time. this looks like a worthwhile event to attend and enjoy yourself
