Around Town, posted by Editor, Palo Alto Online, on May 23, 2012 at 10:45 am

A new Apple Store is quietly beginning construction at the Stanford Shopping Center. No one will publicly talk about it, yet no one will deny it.

You have the addresses mixed up. The current Apple store is at 451 University. The new location (former Z Gallerie) address is 341 University.

Can't wait to see it. Its about time- the current Stanford store is always jam packed. Just in time for me to buy a new iMac.

The real story here is that Microsoft recently opened one of their Microsoft Stores right next door to the tiny existing Apple Store location in the Stanford Mall, and this new Apple Store is at least partially a response to that.

Kudos to Apple. Putting their money into the community that supports them. Just in time for the holidays and all their new products. Someone has their light bulbs on.

To bad Steve is not here to see these results.

Joe,

Both can't be odd addresses, Z Gallerie was on the other side of University Avenue from the current store.
