Fabian has superior crosswalks.
Around Town, posted by Parent, a resident of Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Jul 19, 2007 at 10:49 am

Between the old Sun building and Bayshore is a stretch of Fabian that has crosswalks which are far superior to any I have seen anywhere else around town. These crosswalks are fitted with flashing lights in the roadbed which are operated by buttons the crossing pedestrian presses before crossing. These type of crosswalks should be fitted at all schools and other busy roads where pedestrians are trying to cross.

What makes Fabian have these crosswalks and nowhere else. Are these designed by the pedestrians themselves and they have a trial outside their offices. I am not being facetious, but I would like to know.

These are much better and if it is a cost issue, then see how much an accident killing a pedestrian can cost.

We need one of these outside Palo Verde school. There are two crossing guards at two intersections one block from school, but there is nothing at the crosswalk and traffic rarely stops for someone waiting to cross there either at school start and finish times or other times of the day.
