some movies seem to be made so that they go straight onto dvd. why go back to an old tv series in order to make a ho-hum movie? these production people are capable of much better than this

There have been in the last few years mostly pretty average or below average movies. I don't care much for Burton or Depp or the "Dark Shadows" thing.
One movie I can recommend for free ( if you have NetFlix - $8/month ) that just came out is "The Way" written and directed by Emilio Estavex and starring his dad, Martin Sheen. I was so pleasantly surprised at this cool story, nice cinematography, and lack of violence and gratuitous sexuality, car crashed, super-heros, computer graphic effects, I'd have to say this is the best movie I've seen in a while.
You could not pay me to sit though "Dark Shadows" of this "Hunger Games" movie … bleck !
