well, the community gardens are good. in palo alto the garden is near the cultural center. in sunnyvale the garden is near city hall. best wishes for these endeavors and always hold onto a green thumb

I've been past that garden (in Midtown) many times but never found anyone home. Bad timing, I guess. I've also visited the larger Community Garden, near the Main Library, and sometimes there's no one there, or only one or two gardeners. Gardening is a long term activity. No need to rush....

My goodness, this was just posted as I am starting to do a lot of container gardening in my backyard, and I can see the squirrels stop on the fence looking down and licking their lips … if squirrels have lips.

How can I get in touch with or learn from the master gardeners how to grow plants, mostly food plants, tomatoes, cucumbers, blueberries, cantalope, peas, bell peppers, lemons, peaches, apples, pears, cherries, avocados, etc in my backyard and actually get to eat some of it myself.

Help, I know I will need it coming up in a few weeks or months!
