Vehicle struck by express train in Menlo Park

A mother and daughter were transported to a hospital on Friday evening, April 13, after their Saab was struck by an express train in Menlo Park, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.

Poor kid. I'm guessing she's just starting to drive with her learner's permit if her mom was in the car with her and she got put in a position where she got stuck on the tracks. I wish people were more able to let their physical belongings go when in danger; simply jumping out of the car could have prevented the injuries.

Hopefully everybody involved recovers quickly and completely.
