Socialist Korea Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Gary, a resident of the Downtown North neighborhood, on Apr 13, 2012 at 4:24 pm
The fact that the missle test from socialist Korea failed is no surprise. The surprisng thing is that the socialists actually allowed the world press to watch their (presumed) triumph. Watch them revise the history of the event, like a Stanford history professor. Next comes the cover event, namely the next nuclear blast.
In the meantime, they continue to starve their own people (Stalin, anyone?). The old notion of "never again", following the Holacaust, is dead. Mass murder is alive and well, under the socialists. Socialist indoctrination is bad for childen and their parents.

"Do you want to invade them?"
No, it would be too bloody, at this point. Just don't feed them anymore. Go back to cutting off their international banking access. They are already starving their people, and taking foreign aid to feed their military. If they erupt, and attack S. Korea or Japan, let them have it, big time, from the air. China will whine this time, but not invade on the side of their socialist partners...much too costly for their now semi-capitalist economy.
Bottom line: Squeeze socialist Korea, with the intent of putting it into the dust bin of history.

"Can't justify the great victory over old Russia if he says they can't build a military that can shoot straight..."
The great victory in the cold war, by Reagan, was not about "old Russia", it was against the curent (at the time) Soviet Union. At least come to know basic hsitory.
Socialist Korea is a pure socialist state, like the (now old, thanks to Reagan) Soviet Union. Socialist Korea may not be able to shoot straight, but it is still dangerous. Of course, it represents the distilled outcome of socialism, which is denial of indiviual freedom, then mass murder.

From the guy who thinks a trillion dollars and 5,000 brave American lives were worth getting Saddam, someone who never attacked America and was a counterweight to Iran.
30,000 injured with the war's signature injury being "traumatic brain injury."
For shame, Gary.
You were/are wrong about Iraq, no one is listening to you about NK.

"worth getting Saddam"
Substitute the words "worth getting Hitler" (another socialist).
Then make your argument.
Socialist Korea is one of those remnant socialist states that provides a laboratory study of evil. The "never again" is right in front of our eyes, and it is a competely logical construct, given the uderlying basis of socialist thought. The American left is silent on this issue, because it is conflicted by its own ideology and the mass murder that it implies.

N Korea is a dynastic slave state-not a socialist state
It is a matter for China, Japan and S Korea to manage.
The main actor is China--if N Korea melts down through starvation or -- more likely - an epidemic like the " Black Death" then China will be invaded by millions of starving infected refugees.
The mine fields protect S Korea and the ocean protects Japan-but they do face a very, very small nuclear threat-
-orders of magnitude greater than the threat to any US interests from a nuclear Iran.
N Korea is hopeless for a least a generation because the vast majority of the population is brain damaged and stunted by childhood malnutrition.
The coming epidemics will kill at least 1/3 to 1/2 the N Korean population.
The young women who survive will be poached by Chinese men looking for slave wives.
The population will die off.
Till that happens Japan should mine the harbors, China should disarm the military and S Korea should build a few isolated economic zones for cheap manufacturing.
N Korea does not have a viable ballistic nuclear delivery system if it tries to use such a weapon then we should nuke all major military centers-

"N Korea is a dynastic slave state-not a socialist state"
That is a strained definition. Socialism is a cult of personality. For example, Cuba is a socialist state that passes through Castro to his brother and/or his personality cult. Mao passed it on to his personally chosen successors; Lenin left it to his ideological henchmen. Pol Pot had his tightly controlled ideological murder brigades.
Socialist Korea is typical of socialsit mass murder states like Hitler's Germany and Satlin's USSR and Pol Pot's Cambodia. Hitler was defeated by Churchill/FDR; the USSR by Reagan; Pol Pot by N. Vietnam (even the socialists of Vietnam could no longer look in their own mirror).
Socialist Korea is a retro case that needs to be crushed. If it is not, guess what?...Iran will get the idea that the West is a paper tiger. Feel lucky? The events of 9/11/01 suggest that there is no longer an immunity zone.

Countries like Sweden are socialist states
Cuba is a communist state-as was the USSR
China is a state capitalist fascist state--like Italy, Austria/Germany etc were in the 1930s.
State capitalism is -unfortunately-back in fashion as Russia, Africa and parts of Asia are following China s example.
America should form a closer economic Anglosphere with our close allies-Canada, Australia, NZ, UK/Ireland and long term Nato ally Turkey.
I mention Turkey because it is the only democracy in the ME area and can serve as the model for capitalist economic development for the $1.7 Billion Muslim world.
The Anglosphere is maily composed of ex English colonies who have in common
Rule of Law
Property Rights
Democracy
Common accounting rules and business standards.
The idea of the Anglosphere is also championed by Robert Conquest @ Stanford/Hoover

"Countries like Sweden are socialist states
Cuba is a communist state-as was the USSR"
The European socialist states attempt to achieve the communist goals, in slow motion. Eleanor Roosevelt is reported to have said, " communists are liberals in a hurry".
Socialist Korea is a good example of the mindset of liberals in a hurry. What liberals do we hear from about the mass murder in socialist Korea? Sounds of silence....
'Never again' is now in the dust bin of history. Sad.

Sharon knows nothing about North Korea or socialism . But she does manage once again to introduce Israel into a totally unrelated thread. I am the only one that sees that she has an issue with Israel???

Socialism is usually like pregnancy, a little bit leads to a lot. On a rare occasion, there are retreats (even abortions). Reagan led one of those retreats to individual freedom. Israel, in recent years, has come out of its socialist coma. It is ironic that American liberal Jews, who (perhaps secretly) support Israel, still support their red-diaper pasts. The exceptions are the neo-cons, who finally woke up, after they got mugged by the left.
It would be good to hear American liberals take on socialist Korea. The N. Korean concentration camps are up and humming. Never again? Or don't bother us with facts and mass murder?

In the long run, Norks are no threat, but in the short run...
The heaviest artillery emplacement in the world is within range of Seoul. Buildings in Seoul routinely have North walls two or three feet thick. Until recently my old outfit, the Second Infantry Division, was within artillery range of the Norks. Talk about going out with a bang! Every American president since FDR has caved in to Nork blackmail.
