Helicopter crashes in baylands
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Joe, a resident of the Barron Park neighborhood, on Mar 15, 2012 at 5:09 pm

PAPD and PAFD are on scene of a helicopter crash in the Palo Alto baylands just north of the MSC and west of the landfill. The pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft and was able to walk away from the crash. There are reports of wires down in the area.

Thanks, Joe. I was heading North on 101 and it was all backed up, so I thought I'd try frontage road there, and it was backed up too! Turns out there was a crash on 101, and then 4 fire engines off frontage road for the heli crash. Maybe the 101 crash was a result of drivers looking to the Baylands. But it took me 30 minutes to get from San Antonio to Embarcadero.

And what's with the sirens and helis now if the guy walked away?

Californians just don't do well in rain - or sprinkles!

Thanks for the info. Saw 5 papd cars flying down Channing and heard lots of other sirens. Was wondering what was going on.
