New bill would increase emergency awareness Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Editor, Palo Alto Online, on Jul 12, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Palo Alto, is the co-sponsor of a bill introduced in Congress today that would increase emergency awareness by designating one month a year as 9-1-1 Education Month.

Perhaps one week could be designated "Dial 911 and die" week to celebrate what happens when you entrust your safety to the police. During that week Anna can do her bit by rejecting any security other than the ability to dial 911. No armed guard at her office door, no gated communities, no body guard.

What happened to my post about 911 not being "universal" since other countries use other numbers and some places do not have a 911 service. I did ask if the universe had shrunk for this politician, but I felt that this was a respectful question. Is universal no longer universal?

Good grief..is she bored? Aren't there better things to think about and legislate? The older I get, the more I understand why the more govt you have, the more you get...
