Critical fire conditions today in mountains, hills

A red-flag warning for critical fire weather conditions is in effect today in the mountains and hills of the Bay Area due to strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures.

To the east of us across the Bay is the Coast Range which is classified as 'mountains' including Mt. Hamilton and Mt Diablo.

To the west of us are the Santa Cruz Mountains among others. The 'foothills' are lower down.
