Ratatoille is one of my favorite vegetable dishes. You can't beat the vegetable stew of tomatoes, courgettes and aubergines (zuccini and eggplant) and with some crusty french bread, wow a perfect meal.

So, I hope the movie does a good job in encouraging us to eat healthy and some of the restaurants around here to give us a good old ratatoille (or rats tails as a favorite restaurant of mine called it).

Alas, no, Gourmand, the movie encourages us to eat fatty French cheese and drink great wine and eat food that has been prepared with care and expertise (and butter) instead of eating healthily. But is that really a bad thing? My two daughters (8 1/2 and 10) and husband and I enjoyed the film immensely and are still talking about "remember that part where . . . " a week later.

I did bust a gut during this cute movie, toward the end, when the rats got sanitized *presto* by the dish washer. Then madcap hilarity ensued. Still laughing about that sight gag! :D

Hi Haley. That was such a great scene!! Guess I should have added my definition of gut-busting: It's an unrelenting, uncontrollable laugh that's so hard I miss the next part of the movie, tears are streaming down, and my stomach starts to ache.
