I am appalled with the Palo Alto Online's decision to compare the Whitson sisters in this story. Both sisters are incredibly talented, and it is completely unnecessary to claim that "age has the edge" when both sisters stand out in their respective age groups. The two sisters also play different positions which require different skill sets, making it impossible to compare the two accurately. Why would a community newspaper ever insinuate that there exists a competition within an extremely supportive family? This article is unnecessary and offensive; instead of reflecting well on either of the Whitson's, it reflects very poorly on the Palo Alto Online.
