Telling the Truth is a Good Thing. Tony Blair
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Jim, a resident of the Palo Verde neighborhood, on Jun 18, 2007 at 5:14 pm

"If we end up saying that because these people are committing these acts of terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan, that we shouldn't have done the removal of Saddam or the removal of the Taliban, then we are making a fundamental mistake about our own future, about security, about the values we should be defending in the world."

Every now and then some leader tells the pure truth. Tony Blair just did it.

Well if we could get the leader of this City to tell the truth, maybe we could get little pink pigs to fly also.

Thanks Jim.

I love Blair. I would vote for him in a second for President. His ability to articulate clearly every issue we have faced has been remarkable, and one I have often wished someone here could do as well.

As usual, the reporter puts in the REPORTER's opinion that his leaving is "clouded" by his decision to "support Bush" on Iraq. Why doesn't the reporter write " clouded for some by...yet celebrated by others for his support against terrorism and for democracy in Iraq".

Ah well. There goes a great man into retirement.
