Specialized cleaning
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Carol Blitzer, a resident of the University South neighborhood, on Jun 4, 2007 at 9:51 am

Know anyone who specializes in "speed cleaning" or who can come in and do large appliances (fridge, oven), small appliances (such as Cuisinarts), wood floors, or once/year chores? Or, someone who can do the cleaning a regular maid service doesn't cover (such as behind the fridge or dryer)?

I don't know of a service, but if you have regular house cleaners, either private or from a service, you could ask them. Sometimes they may come back in their own time to do heavier cleaning or else they may have friends who may be interested. My own housecleaner's husband and son came for a couple of hours to clean my screen doors and a few other things and did an excellent job.

I have a house cleaner, Nora, who is leaving a larger employer to take the chance of working on her own. She is very amenable to special things, and also has a husband, Tony, who has a gardening business but is able to make special trips later in the day for jobs with his wife, such as him cleaning the garage while she does the regular house, etc. He fixes things too. Nora's cell phone is 650-669-6102. Tony (who is better with English on the telephone) is 650-771-4271. He can get details for Nora. Nice people, parents, and very hard-working!
