Podheretz believes attack on Iran possible Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Guardian of Zion, a resident of the Old Palo Alto neighborhood, on May 28, 2007 at 10:56 am
Mr. Podhoretz, in your article you say there, in fact, is no other alternative solution for the Iranian nuclear threat other than an American military strike. Have you told President Bush what you think?
NORMAN PODHORETZ: Yes I have. He was very non-committal. He didn't say "no".
MOSAIC: Do you think he'll do it?
NORMAN PODHORETZ: Yes I do. I believe, contrary to what many people assume, that he will do it before he leaves office, possibly shortly before he leaves office. I think he agrees with the analysis that I offer, namely that there is no alternative to military action, nothing else will stop them, not negotiations, not sanctions, there won't be an internal insurrection at least in time.
Here's the complete 3-minute interview of Guardian of Zion award winner Norman Podhorezt:

It's odd that an American citizen who has the ear of President Bush is this year's Guardian of Zion awardee.
The Guardian of Zion Award is an annual award given since 1997 to Jews who have been supportive of the State of Israel.
Last year's Guardian of Zion awardee was Daniel Pipes, the founder of Campus Watch, an organization accused of attacking academic freedom by publishing a list of academics critical of Israel.

It was just last September that Israel wrapped up it's genocidal bombing campaign that murdered thousands of defenseless Lebanese civilians.
And last year Israel murdered 660 Palestinians, 30 times more than were killed by Palestinians.
Exactly why does our mainstream media conceal Israel's revolting 30-to-1 kill ratio? Does hiding the truth about Israel make it easier to for Arab-haters to tar Muslims to be the bad guys?
Meanwhile, I can't recall the last time Iran attacked anyone.
Just exactly who are the psychotic terrorists here?

Guardian, I can see that the fact that a branch of the Lebanese government crossed the border, abducted and killed Israeli citizens, then retreated to hide with cowardice behind the skirts of women and children to use their deaths for propoganda value is irrelevant to you. Along the same lines, I can see that you are one who would blame the "police" for accidental deaths of innocents taken hostage, not the "hostage taker".
Your ethics and morality are different from mine.
You should thank God every day you live in a country that guarantees you freedom of speech and religion. And, particularly on this day, thank the soldiers who died to keep us this way.

Okay, here we go again!!!
Israel is evil--Israel is murdering the palestinians and the lebanese--Israel is doing this--Israel is behind this.
once again we are hearing revisionist history of what is happeneing in the Middle East, by the same person, who every month or so starts up a new thread, using a different name to basically spread the same series of lies and distortions.
As Draw the Line pointed out above, we know what happened in Lebanon last year and we know what is going with the Palestinians also. To sum things up Hezbollah and Hamas have sworn to wipe israel off the map--no peace, no negotiationsm no two state solution. Wipe out Israel perios is their mantra. So you bet your life that Israel will defend itself uisng the full extent of it's military. As I have stated before Israel has used great restratint in responding to these consatnt attacks by these terrorist organizations. I am not sure any other sountry in the world would put up with that kind of consatnt attacks without dealing a serious military blow to the offending parties.
So, please, Guardian of Zion, save your genocide/murder comments for people who may better appreciate your version of the mideast situation (I will not say hwo they are, but I think we all know the type of people that buy into the stuff you are selling).

The neocons, of which this pseudo intellectual is considered the leading thinker, are really our al qaeda. They hold extremely similar messianic ultra-violent and Manichian world views. Both world views are anchored in unreachable, unworkable and catastrophic ends that would entail horrible strategies and if executed on a larger scale would bring the world to the verge of extinction.

Name one nation that has used nukes against a democracy...now name one whose leader has specifically stated he wants to annhilate a democracy if he can ( that democracy being Israel).
I won't even go into how the nuke saved many more lives than would have been lost from a ground offensive.
