Watch the Warriors Make History Tuesday Night
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Nostradamus, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on May 1, 2007 at 1:33 pm

Tonight the Golden State Warriors will attempt to eliminate the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in Game 5. Many sports analysts have said that this would be the biggest upset in pro basketball history.

I'm not a huge basketball fan, but I've been watching this series and it is the most entertaining basketball I've ever seen. Don't miss game 5 tonight!

- Dirk "Frankenstein" Nowitski will be revealed for the choker/stiff that he really is!

- Baron Davis will put the finishing touches on one of the greatest performances in NBA post-season history!

- Don Nelson will cement his reputation as the best coach of our era!

- Yoriko Kishimoto will pose for a global warming photo op at halftime (not)!

All this will come to pass.

I guess we'll have to wait until Thursday night for some history. Nice comeback from 21 points down last night though.

Go Warriors!

A team that leads by 9 points with 3 minutes left in the game and allows its opponent to go on a 15 to 0 run is not going to make history but is going to lose the series 4:3, sadly.

sarlat, did you have to rain on the parade? such realism is not appropriate in this case....

seriously, don't believe the hype....the nba is very soft these days.....lots of weak teams.....

that's why dallas won so many games......beating weak eastern foes....powerhouses like

indiana, philly, boston, and so on.

Don Nelson, greatest coach of our times.....pure bs......has he ever won a title?

I love Nellie to, but let's be real....ever heard of phil jackson?

don't let those giddy feelings make you lose sight of reality.

Dirk choking? Is that what you call it when a player makes two critical three pointers

in the final moments of a close game, a game that his teams wins?

Give us a break! That is big time basketball shooting, in case you forgot!

Love to see you do the same.....doubt you'd hit the rim, bro!

and your cheap dig at the mayor makes you look like an idiot!

Stilt, your arguments have wilted and my prediction has indeed come to pass. And I call going 2 for 13 a major chokefest by the Dirkster.

[Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.] I recommend the book "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" by Lynne Truss.

nostra,

[Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.]

i never said anything about winning or losing

just that dallas was overrated, and the warriors

were beneficiaries of a weak league, that's all....

[Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.]

i am quite elated in the warriors victory

we have that in common....

seriously,

and i do love nellie,

just find it hard to say he's the greatest coach quite yet without

having any rings on the finger (not as a player)

and dirk did come through the other night,

although the scoring has been down,

and he is perhaps overrated too.....

don't need to call him names though....

that's for little kids bro....

still think you couldn't hit the rim from the arc under pressure
