Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Walter_E_Wallis, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Apr 29, 2007 at 3:49 pm

Governor Arnold Swartzeneger April 29, 2007

Caltrans needs to ask the Union Pacific for advice on putting trestles back into service. The record they made in Sacramento replacing the Elvas trestle is one to shoot for. I have no doubt of the ability of Caltrans, I just question the ability of non-engineers to stay out of the picture. Bring in California National Guard engineers and the Union Pacific crews and distract everyone else to the plight of the endangered desert pelican until the job is done.
