People usually disconnect or go into a trance at the mention of insurance, but now the spell is broken! It is a time to be aware, you already have a lot at stake. When it comes to your property, what do you expect in case of loss (hurricane, tornado, earthquake, flood, fire, etc.)? The disaster itself is news. What happens after the dust settles is the story: the aftermath shock. Here is something you should know. With a little curiosity, you the insurance policyholder can mitigate that shock.

You can now have access to your basic rights and vital information–even footing, equality–the security of knowing what to expect in case of loss! www.DisasterPrepared.info

This sounds wonderful and we should be very grateful to those involved as one day we could reap the benefits of all their hard work. Many thanks indeed.

A question. The $20,000 from the City, is this money that the City would have spent on disaster preparedness elsewhere or otherwise where is the money coming from? I have no problems with the money being spent on this, but wonder if this is going to put us any more in the red? I would rather see it spent on this than Destination Palo Alto or the Childrens' Theatre.

@Resident

FYI, the council's Policy and Services Committee did not identify a source for the $20,000 during its meeting but suggested various possibilities for the city to explore.
