I believe the new reservoir and the command center in the new police station will facilitate disaster response. Fiber optic might help. Tasers for the cops might eliminate the need to shoot looters.

5 days food and water supplies and a manual can opener. Battery or hand crank radio. Active Boy and Girl Scouts, police reserve, triage station operators, Ham station locations and protocol, locator service. Cash on hand to tide you over until the ATMs are back up. Pet food. NRA sticker for your front window. 5 days clean underwear.

Shovel. Laser pointer.

To help you prepare for emergency situations such as earthquakes and pandemics there are a couple of upcoming free community events. At these events you can learn more about how to prepare and purchase ready made kits to get a jump start on preparedness.

"Getting Earthquake Ready" is a seminar given by MV Fire Dept on April 22nd at 2 pm, 801 California St, Mountain View, CA, 94041. The 1 hour seminar will be followed by 1/2 hour of preparedness activities. Spanish translation will be available.

The second event "Preparedness in the Park" will feature preparedness activities for all ages and will follow the Spring Parade. April 28th,12-3:30 Pioneer Park, Mountain View.

Both events are free and open to all members of the community.
