I just got done reading (and I am catching up on a bunch of stuff) about a person on death row who wants to end his legal appeal process, be legally executed for his crimes (which are horrible), and donate his healthy organs to those who need them.
Here's just one of the implications: is the execution timed to help donate an organ to someone on a liver, heart or other such list?
The article I read is in the current issue of Esquire magazine for those who care to read it.

Yes, and the chi-coms make $$$ selling the organs. At least they have found some small way to mitigate the costs involved in their criminal justice system.

That and charging the family for the bullet. I love the Chinese and wish there were some way to bring them closer to what we once had, even while we are slinking toward replacing our Constitution with The Little Red Book.

If a rich American needs an organ, they can order it from China or Eastern Europe. If you're not too concerned about how guilty the person really is, you can get the organ overnight.

A damn shame that everyone involved in an organ transplant is paid scale, and yet the donor or donor's estate is denied compensation for their invaluable contribution.
