Repaving of Oregon Expressway and we got stuck in it.

Why they can't announce a day before that they are planning on prevent cross town traffic from using streets like Louis and others is just bad PR work. We have no systematic method of traffic reports for local traffic, only major roads. To those of us who live locally, it is just as important if not more so to know of traffic gnarlups as highway gnarlups.

My family member had reported it was more than that - (just Oregon) - it was really hard to get around

Not just Oregon, but also a chunk of Embarcadero. Why on earth are they doing two arterial roads to 101 on the same day? A little warning would have been nice. Why on earth would we expect major roadwork on a Saturday?

Paving on Saturday makes a lot of sense, since there is a lot less traffic. Some warning on PaloAltoOnline would have been helpful.

OPar: I agree. There are only three main ways out of PA and they choked off two at the same time . . . what a mess.

They do it when they please because they know they can - 101 took years to complete. Choosing a Saturday was much less impact than a weekday.
