Palo Alto has submitted checklist for Google Fiber

Original post made by Mr.Recycle, Duveneck/St. Francis, on May 16, 2014

Got this message from Google Fiber:

"Good news!
The City of Palo Alto has submitted its fiber-ready checklist, bringing you and your neighbors one step closer to a new, high-speed network and all that comes with faster Internet. This was the first step in seeing if your city is a good fit for Google Fiber."

If you want Google fiber as an alternative to Comcast and AT&T in Palo Alto, tell the city council to keep pressing forward! Also, you can register your interest with Google Fiber which will help indicate to them that there is demand in Palo Alto!

I read about this and frankly was concerned.
I hope there will be an open process in Palo Alto disclosing where the equipment boxes will go - another community's homeowners had problems with this as well as with regard to trees being cut down. Some of us have power lines and poles in our backyards and the prospect of a noticeably large piece of equipment being added is not a good thing.
All we want is disclosure and details - not a rushed deal for Google, with routine reviews being rushed and/or circumvented, as was implied by what I read.
