What happened to Hunan Garden?

Original post made by barron park resident, Barron Park, on May 13, 2014

They said they were on a long vacation, but the phone number is disconnected. Does anyone know what happened?

I read that Simon, the owner, was turning over operations to his son and they are planning some sort of Chinese Fusion restaurant. There goes my $8.50 Kung Pow chicken lunch.

I spoke with Simon before he left for vacation. He didn't mention transitioning ownership, but he did say they were thinking of revamping, with a new name and refreshed menu items. They would keep the current popular dishes, drop the less popular ones, and add new options.

When i would call before, the phone message indicated they were on vacation for the first time in decades, but it didn't give an ETA for their return. Now the phone is out of service, perhaps the phone bill lapsed while they are out of town. We are anxious for their return and look forward to the veggie won ton soup...
