Are testing days counted as school days?

Original post made by Paly Parent, Palo Alto High School, on Apr 14, 2014

My kid, a sophomore at Paly, has a test today at school, 8.15 - 10.15 and then is finished for the day. It seems the juniors also have a similar test. Freshmen and Seniors have no school today.

When it comes to counting 180 academic classroom days, is a day like today counted as one of the 180?

We have other days when tests occur and classes are squeezed into a few hours after lunch, but how can today be classed as a teaching day?

Any one know?
