Drunk drivers are so scary, especially on residential streets. Is her mug shot and address available?

Dear parent,

The way I read this report, Ms. Courtney was not necessarily drunk. Being as she was in possession of a controlled substance (which I read to mean illegal drugs) I would lean towards her being under the influence of drugs. I would be very interested in what "controlled substance" she was in possession of. Some drugs can be more debilitating than being "slightly over the limit" with alcohol.

It is not just drunk drivers that scare me, it is drivers under the influence of any drug (and remember that alcohol IS a drug) to the point where they are not able to function properly.

When are we going to have that ignition disabling alcohol tester device mandated for all cars?

Rational,
As I said earlier, there is a strong possibility "that under the influence" in this case does not refer to alcohol. Those testers will not detect meth, PCP, or any of a host of other debilitating drugs a driver can be under the influence of. How much do those testers cost to buy and install in a car? Do you want your car to cost that much more, especially when it is not effective for all drugs and can also be easily circumvented? We need a solution to DUI drivers, but that ain't it.
