Please can we get the ugly back sides of buildings away from the street

Original post made by Resident, Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Dec 5, 2013

I would like to return to seeing the fronts of buildings from the street, not the sides or the backs. All buildings have a service entrance and ugly parts, which should not be seen from the street by passers by. The front of a building is not only the entrance, but the part of the building that people see as they are driving, riding or walking by. Therefore the elegant frontage should be at the front, not hidden from view to all but those entering the building.

I completely agree with you and would like Palo Alto to stop allowing blind walls, for example, on building sides facing the street.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
