Editorial: Helping kids this season

Original post made on Nov 22, 2013

Dear Neighbors & Friends,
We began Oct. 2012 with a group of concerned more financially stable Palo Alto neighbors. Who were witness to other middle income neighbors struggling and then falling into homelessness. We started with a food drive and now offer a full array of programs and peer counseling to help those in need cope and navigate their options.
It is food drive season. NHN Annual Food Drive now through Dec. 21st.
Or "hold your own food drive" any time of year.

We have helped over 500 singles, seniors and families. Please check out our Face Book page for events and program. Web Link

If you know anyone who is struggling or in crisis, please contact our confidential email address,
Phone #650-283-0270
Everyone is treated with kindness, respect and sensitivity. We do not have
recipients, we only have "neighbors in need". When these folks are stable again, they simply continue to be our "neighbors".

Ravenswood Education Foundation strives to give students in East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park the same kind of public school education which students across Hiway 101 receive. REF appreciates the contribution from the Holiday fund, along with all the other generous donors who give directly to REF to support all children.
