San Jose Mercury News editorial today

Original post made by Bob on Nov 7, 2013

Re: the defeat of Measure D
The San Jose Mercury News' editorial today re: the defeat of Measure D was a sore loser, below-the-belt opinion which reeked of venom. But its subsidiary, the Palo Alto Daily News did recommend a "No on D." Newspapers that are not based in the city/town in which the political action is taking place should not voice an opinion. The Mercury News is not known for straight political thinking.

Bob-- but if the mercury news had been against D you would have not had a problem, right? The mercury news is a regional paper and should express their opinion. Plus their is freedom of the press.

8200 voters voted one way, 6300 voted another, combined low turnout representing just part of the voters, which represents part of the residents of Palo Alto. Nothing wrong with the system, but I'm surprised how upset the "winners" are on another thread in the forum, and why the Mercury News editorial would sting them so much. I happen to agree with that editorial.P

Why is the original poster, Bob, allowed to claim the Mercury News editorial "reeked of venom", but why was the comment by one of the responders who compared Bob's comments to the "venom" used by the opponents of D deleted.
The Weekly continues to carry out their one-sided and biased policy against Measure D
