Critical call costs Cardinal in soccer loss

Stanford spent 85 minutes alternately turning back No. 1 California's best chances and delivering blows of its own but a penalty in the 86th minute cruelly sent the Cardinal to an undeserved 1-0 loss in Berkeley.

Blaming the refs for a loss is baloney. Both teams had many chances to score and to play defense. The referees did not block a single shot, nor did they make any goals of their own. Take responsibility rather than being a chicken and blaming the referees.
