This Chief Sounds Like He cares, But It Also Sounds Like He Should Not Be In The Police Business. How About Running A Social Service Agency. I've Lived Around Here My Hole Life And Everybody Knows They Only Have 15 Police Officers For The Entire City.
East Palo Alto has been a crime emergency for decades ... but it's nice that the chief of police would notice and make a comment about it now I guess.
When are we going to stop tiptoeing around and do something about an outrageous situation?
We need a way to do "inhuman" profiling ... that is, finding out and removing inhuman people who shoot innocent people because they have nothing more in their lives going on, from the rest of the human population that would not ever even think of this kind of crime and just want to get on with their lives.
And who keeps these kinds of people secret and hidden or does not turn them in?
Does someone really understand what needs to happen here or will they just displace the criminals to somewhere else and somehow we have become habituated to crime in EPA?
Um dunno where you keep yourself, Anon, but the chief is constantly making comments. In fact, he's know for cultivating the press.
Who are the "we" to whom you refer, since you live in another city & county & unless I'm mistaken, aren't an LEO or otherwise involved w/crime fighting?
And lastly, the type of profiling to which you refer is likely illegal, as your police dept. has discovered. The cops here know who the majority of the players are, but they can't babysit the baby thugs 24/7 - that's the job of their parents, who clearly aren't doing it.
I hope the chief really means it. it was scary to hear yesterday that they had to ask for help to Menlo Park and Palo Alto because they do nto have enough police man. Today I hear the sirens again and again.I am wonder who have died or who got shot. I will not know till tomorrow. But here is you hear sirens it is not because an old person fall, it is very likely that is because someone got shot. We hear the shots every day. I will be waiting to see if tomorrow gets better.
Why do Palo Alto residents have to read about East Palo Alto's crime everyday on our news website? Geez! I just want to catch up on what's going on in our city and article after article is about the problems going on in East Palo Alto. So depressing.
We have the highest incarceration rate and the highest recidivism rate of all developed countries.
Everything both imaginable and imaginary is now crime.
This is not by accident, but by the intent of the criminal justice industry. It guarantees they will expand and perpetuate themselves indefinitely.
Until we, the victims, put the criminal justice industry out of business, and put the real criminals to death, nothing will change.
Jenn - it would be nice to read about the cool stuff happening here. Yes, good things happen w/good people involved & some of them involve Palo Alto. I'm tired of the crIme & violence, especially the idiocy committed by punks. I can't stand the violent language that goes along w/it all, terms like "declaring war on gangs" & "battle against crime." All of this testosterone poisoning, & these idiot gangsters w/their overblown sense of importance & machismo disgust me. What is this, the Prohibition in 1933 w/correlating street crime?
In addition to keeping abreast of happenings in Menlo & your town, I want to read about The Four Seasons' fundraiser for One East Palo Alto, the next phase of the park construction for Cooley Landing & what the students are learning from their garden w/Collective Roots.
We need to shut down the City when this type of crime occurs! Shut it down until we find the bad guys. Just like Boston.
It sad to see your town like this I wish everyone could get along with each other. "When they mention East Palo Alto is always with a bad news. Stop the violence please. Is a shame that the Police who should be taking care of the city they don't do anything about this. They need some really Police officers:(
I am a employed 54 yr old citizen living in EPA. If a person in a gang shoots me, does that make it a 'gang related' incident? I have to wonder why police and media are so quick to use that term.
Do they think that people will realize that it is somehow beyond their ability to stop?
Okay, so it's 'gang related' NOW FIX THE F**king PROBLEM! and stop hitting me over the head with USELESS terminology!

the police are in the business of staying in business. or sniffing out potheads. waste of taxes and ''time''. even one pot bust takes away from the real crimes of ignorance. marijuana is the natural transistor of plants , sort of the green consciousness of the world. cinnamon is more dangerous if used to excess. nutmeg is much more dangerous. wasting all resources and scarce monies for pot is the height of sickness. potheads designed your computers. cops use computers. ripping off potheads inventions to bust potheads!
Raymond, the cops use the term & the media pick up on that. It's used to describe crime committed by those who fit the legal definition of a gang. The terminology becomes useless to us, but it works well in the legal system, w/enhanced criminal charges if it's a gang-related issue, funding available to fight gang-related crime, as well as correlating social problems. It's messy & hard to get rid of, because the garbage starts at home & there are prison ties w/these gangs - insidious, actually.

Thank you Hmmm for your response to Jenn. Believe that no one in this city wants to read about all this bad news. We are sorry you have to read it too. At least you do not need to live it so that is good news for you. Few positive things are reported in the media in general but less if it happens in EPA. Good things do happen in EPA. It would be encouraging for all readers to know about the goods things.
There's a old saying ,.....when there's blood in the street's. Buy real estate. It's the same game played on the Black's to sell out there home's for fear of crime looking for a better places to live because your neighborhood is a war zone. Mexican's will start selling and Asian and white buyer's will buy. The very thing that the city council and the chief of police is working to bring about. Don't let the smile's and program's fool you. #Expose dat ass. As to why there hasn't been any large scale bust on Hispanic's in the city. But the Black's were rode on with five hundred officer's from as far away as San Diego. But the city is 65% Hispanic and 15% Afro- American. Seems like the Chief is allowing some thing's to go unchecked while targeting small group's of blacks . While the Hispanic's go untouched in the community. When everyone knows they have most all the drug's and gun's. Well job security at it's best.
Shake the crime stick!
News FLASH!!! OUT of control crime in EPA? OMG!! Hello everyone, until EPA is under the law enforcement control and protection of the San Mateo County Sheriffs Department this crime problem will always continue. EPA is just another mini Oakland. Gangs, thugs, released criminals who find their home right next to our neighborhood . Thats right, thats what they want. Next door to us. EPA cannot afford enough police and educational classes for the young kids to teach them to keep away from the nasty people their. The community is continually ripe for the pickins of the law abiding folks but without aggressive law enforcement to kick out the criminals nothing will change. Palo Alto has to hear about East Palo Alto because it is a problem that Palo Alto purposely created.
As the book "Broken Cross" illustrates, Palo Alto is run by organized satan-worshippers.
Do your research, in 1975 they sacrificed a girl in a satanic ritual in the Stanford University church. The Police says it was most likely Stanford students who were responsible.
According to Alex Jones, it is Stanford University who creates Satanic technology for the CIA such as, HAARP. He also claims that it is the CIA who creates gangs in order to create violence, see the Iran-Contra scandal.
They also create satanic brainwaves and frequencies that turn the youth's minds away from our heavenly father.
You want to fix East Palo Alto? Get rid of the satan-worshipping, zionists who run Palo Alto and are trying to run the world.
Uh oh! When people start mentioning Zionists, Satan & the CIA, it is time for bed! But remember - the murder actually happened in 1974 & the poor victim's widower, Dr. Perry, is well-known for debunking "Satanic Panic." Clearly, he still has work to do in this area.
Ha, ha, ha,.
Nice way to de-politicize the issue, hmmmm. Old zionist manuevre, just make a big joke out of it.
Are you a real citizen or one of the members of the israeli secret police that work out of Palo Alto and Silicon Valley?
Are one of the members of the Israeli secret police/CIA that work out of Facebook on Willow Road, spying on people through the internet?
Are you one of the members of the secret israeli police/CIA who patrol the Facebook campus on willow road in Comcast vans as well as old plumbing/electrical vans?
ha, ha, ha,.
Thats right, the link between the CIA, satanism and palo alto zionists needs to be researched by everyone reading this so that you can reach your personal conclusions.
I REPEAT-- if you want to fix East Palo Alto start by addressing the satan-worshipping zionists who control Palo Alto, Stanford University, Silicon Valley and Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
Also, please look up Bohemian Grove--satan worshipping in northern. california.
And remember, this is very real, if someone laughs at you they are probably involved in the satan-worshipping and in the corruption of our youth.
Don't miss out on the discussion!
