Again what a wonderful May Fete Parade!! The joy! The smiles! The creativity!
Tom Osborne (spelling?) has been involved with the parade for 57 years! The gentleman providing the Public Address systems has been involved for 25 years. One of the announcers has been announcing for a dozen years!
The Parade runs smoothly every year because of all the behind-the-scenes organization of the City and its volunteers!
Kudos to all!! This was Sparkles Delight's 17th time in the May Fete Parade plus The Black and White Balls before that!!
Palo Alto is an exceptional City! Keep up the good work, everyone!

Great parade. How come it isn't called the "Pet Parade" anymore?
Just curious.

When I wrote the above comment yesterday, I had no idea it would state that I was a "resident" in Downtown North neighborhood. That's where the parade was! I lived in Palo Alto until 1995 on Waverley near Campesino.
I purchased my first pair of Rollerblades at Palo Sports and Toy World in 1986. They still are one of the sponsors of the parade. Thanks!!

The parade is always so sweet.
But what a shame that the route doesnt go past the Channing House any more. Waving to the seniors on their balconies and in lawn chairs and wheelchairs in the parking lot was always a high point. So sad to skip that.
This year parade route was very short.
