Again in the interest of full disclosure, I'm a fomer Mid-town resident

While I attended DeAnza, not Foothill, one summer before transfering to SJS, many of my high school and fellow Spartan 'mates did spend time on the 'Hill.

Still a great financial and educational stepping stone.

I'll never forget practising under the lights one nite in November 1966 at the Foothill field as a member of the Cubberley football team. As a perennial benchwarmer, it was one of the highlights of an otherwise dismal season under Coach Doster.

Mr Smithwick lived a vey rich and productive life. He was productive even in retirement. That was a life well-lived.
