Stanford men get important hoop win at Oregon St.

Original post made on Feb 22, 2013

From this point in the season, the Stanford men's basketball team can't afford to lose another game if it has any hopes of reaching the postseason. The Cardinal took that to heart on Thursday night as Josh Huestis scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Stanford pulled away down the stretch to beat Oregon State, 82-72, in Corvallis, Ore.

Let's not get too excited, boys, about Stanford's victory over OSU. OSU is clearly one of the three worst teams in the PAC-12 and has a 3-11 record in conference. If the Cardinal couldn't win that game, they would be out of the NIT, not to mention the NCAA. Got to love the fact that Dawkins terms OSU "a good team." What nonsense! Stanford won a game it should have won and had to win. Now it's on to Oregon for a matchup with a competitive team (that Cal just upset). The roadtrip will be a success if and only if the Cardinal beat Oregon too.
