I have always wondered why Greg Schmidt was not urged to serve as vice-mayor and then as mayor in the natural order of his service. Three much younger--in terms os age and experience--leapfrogged over him. Does anyone know why or how?

Is there anywhere else in this land where the mayor change annually? Seems pointless and wasteful, as well as ineffectual in general.

Somebody answer me please. Why we the citizens of Palo Alto don't elect our Mayors like other cities do?

Seems extremely idiotic.

City Hall is in their own world. Ignoring us, and taking turns electing each other for mayor.

Daniel-- who is this "us" you talk about? PA needs to focus on its residents first. Direct your complaints to the MV council.
