I Will Vote for President Obama

Original post made by stephen levy, University South, on Aug 26, 2012

The editor has now taken down or closed five disrespectful threads about the presidential race. I am wondering if there is anyone who wants to engage in a more respectful discussion.

I totally agree with both your choice and with your specific reasons for that choice. Thank you for articulating them.

> I believe in corporate tax reform that reduces exemptions in exchange for lower rates but I do not find evidence that cutting rates for high income folks is the best approach to growing the economy.

What a gutless comment, in fact the whole article just skirts the issues that are continually plaguing us because of the abuse of power by those at the top. As if we are going to get either of those

Not a mention of Citizens United. To the right ... direction ... as I write this even in Palo Alto there is a banner ad blaring at me to sign a petition to overturn Roe V. Wade.

This kind of mamby-pamby essay implicitly assumes that our system works, which is most of the problem.

By the way, not too many comments or any discussion at all when you force people to sign in, and signing is does not get one anything.

1. If I sign in further comments could be emailed to me instead of having to see that someone made a comment and then have to come here and sign in again.

2. If I sign in, why do we continually have to type these verificiation codes that don't even work half the time?

I explained why this thread requires registration.

One, the editors are taking down or requiring registration on posts talking about the election. Another thread was taken down yesterday. I was just getting ahead of the trend. Two, I wondered if anyone wanted a serious disucssion--sorry you considered it gutless but in any event the answer is no. OK.

If you are worried about Citizen's United or abortion or other issues likely to be heard by the Supreme Court, I would think this argues even more for reelecting President Obama. Do you disagree?

I agree that the verification code could be made easier.

On the issue, i will vote for Obama ... I can scarcely understand why there would even be a question about it unless someone is completely closed-minded or lacking in understanding ... or of course financially gaining in some way.

Just delete "disrespectful" posts and comments. There is a lot of complexity as to why posts are disrespectful. Some people just cannot help it. It is very often someone who edges up to but does not quite cross the line into what would be considered disrespectful that kicks it off, but their posts are never deleted, and there is a lot of bias, misunderstanding and political correctness and bias on the part of the moderator here.

I'm just saying there is no discussion at all. Is that better? Worse even there are not facts. Facts are what people need in order to even have the possibility to see clearly.

Here is something to look at if anyone even reads this ...
