Palo Alto resident named to Sailing Hall of Fame

Palo Alto resident Stan Honey, winner of the 2006 Volvo Ocean Race, will be inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame along with eight others, at a special ceremony on Oct. 14 in New Orleans.

People should know that his wife, Sally Lindsay Honey , is also a famous sailor. She was the Rolex Yachtswomen of the year twice (72 & 73), owned a sewing/sail repair business in Palo Alto for years, and recently headed the committee that investigated the Farallones sailing tragedy and issued its report a short time ago.
