Though it is not mentioned here, every PAUSD school is celebrating Earth Day with events this week and next week--encouraging families and students to choose Earth-friendly modes of transportation for school commutes, like walking, biking, carpooling, riding the bus. In addition, kids are staging recycling presentations, displaying solar cars they designed and built, all kinds of things. Some of the events are really wonderful.

Penny,

Are the school kids celebrating nuclear power, which is CO2 free?

Yes, John, they are - they will be putting on Day-Glo paint to mimic radiation poisoning after a nuke plant blows up.
