GSA circus investigation in front of a GOP congress

Original post made by Ed, Fairmeadow, on Apr 16, 2012

The GOP circus "investigation" is a joke. This is an attemtp to go after a very good and honest President Obama. President Obama understands that GSA has a private element to it, including its semi-private pool of money, from private and government investors. Holding hearings about so-called "public" money is a naked attempt to attack our President. If GSA was a Wall Street firm, this would not even be an issue. The GSA party frivolities were much more interesting than the uptight Wall Street guys and their bimbos. It was an OPM issue, from the start, and it did NOT cost U.S. taxpayers a dime! These parties are a morale booster for the very hard working employees at GSA.

The GSA is a very smart and effient operation. Leave it alone!

The GSA does so much good work. It protects unions rights in its negotiations. It makes good deals for the federal government. It promotes federal government jobs. It is always under attack from the GOP. This GOP circus is an attempt to smear President Obama.

The GSA plays hardball with the private sector. If the GSA wants to throw a party, let them.

"Dan",

You are mixing things up here. There was no GSA scandal, it was just a party for some hard working people. It distresses me that House Democrats are going along with this GOP charade. We should not be berudging federal workers for working hard, and partying hard.

Your issue is about the Secret Service prostitute scandal. The only reason it is a scandal is that it compromises our President's security. If it was the GSA, there is no problem, except for the moralists. However, protection of President Obama, or any president, is a very serious issue.

The GSA is now alleged to engage in bribery and kickbacks--they are wasting taxpayers money.

The Secret Service hired 22 prostitutes at the hotel--prostitution is not illegal in that country but having SS agents involved with prostitutes in such situations risks US national security.

Both scandals in the Federal Government show a breakdown in leadership-who sets the tone of leadership in the Federal Gov?

Obama.

Another example of the nice guy who is an incompetent CEO

We need a competent CEO as POTUS-ASAP

Sharon had moved her comedy act to this thread after the " Obama s war on women" thread was limited to registered posters. Anyone surprised by her remarks?

"The Secret Service hired 22 prostitutes"

The Service did not.

Any proof? Of course not, it's Sharon, after all.

Wash Post

"Secret Service, military personnel brought as many as 21 prostitutes to Colombia hotel, investigators say"

on sworn testimony

Web Link

" The accusations are triggering scrutiny of the culture of the Secret Service
— where married agents have been heard to joke during aircraft takeoff that their motto is "wheels up, rings off"

— and raising new questions at both the agency and the Pentagon about institutional oversight at the highest levels of the president's security apparatus".

Since this report the number has risen according to CNN and MSNBC.

The GSA scandal of wasting taxpayers money is getting worse by the minute

-no accountability-no responsibility

We need a competent CEO as POTUS --not just a "nice guy"

That User Name is already is a registered user.

from Sharon's link: "brought by U.S. Secret Service and military personnel "

what sharon said: "The Secret Service hired 22 prostitutes"

The *Secret Service* did not hire them, the agents did, probably with their money. Don't connect it to the GSA spending taxpayer money.

Let the GSA investigation play out, let's see how many managers were appointees from different presidents.

Until then, we investigate. Elijah Cummings put it this way - "... the most basic tenets of government service: It's not your money; it's the taxpayers' money."
