Thank you Palo Alto Online for letting people know about this weekend's events to honor Jim Burch. He was such an inspiration to the community and to all who knew him. Through his many charitable and creative and political activities, he touched the lives of millions of people. Thanks again.

The hero worship of a flawed, deeply troubled individual continues unabated. Maybe the City Council should change the name of Palo Alto to Burchville, since everyone is so busy singing his praises that they forget his distate for anyone that dared to disagree with him and his disregard for free speech. Will there be a permanent shrine erected in the city so that his disciples can worship him?? Perhaps a life-sized statue.
