Chris Matthews calls out Obama

Original post made by Gary, Downtown North, on Nov 20, 2011

When Chris Matthews, an in-the-tank-for-Obama hack tells the truth that he is an empty suit, I feel all warm inside, because I called it at the beginning!

Gotta watch this stuff!

I am still furious at the snow job he and the whole media did on our country..

The tidal wave of ignorance has killed so many businesses, bankrupted so many formerly tax paying citizens, ..the swath of needless man-made destruction is infuriating.

But on the other hand, at least most Americans have seen the full monte now over what the Democrat Party has become.

It isn't too late to fix the mess for the recovery of this USA into what it was sometime in the next..hmm..maybe 5 years. By this time in Reagan's presidency, who "inherited" a much bigger mess than did Obama, we had 7% growth in GDP, compared to our anemic number hovering near 1%. We can start our engines again, if we vote smarter.

Maybe it will mean fixing the Dem Party, and pulling it back to the right from the far left, and we can go back to having votes over which side of center we want to be, instead how far left we want to be ( like with McCain and Obama, it was lefter and leftist..and we went leftist)

Agree with Svatoid. Another yawner from Gary.

Reagan raised taxes 7 times, including the largest middle class tax hike in history when he doubled payroll taxes. Reagan also tripled out national debt.

But Gary and I can agree on something: let's go back to Reagan tax rates on the everyone, including corporations.

And quit fighting working Americans and unions; Ronald Reagan: "Where Free Unions and Collective Bargaining are Forbidden, Freedom is Lost"

Gary, you probably wont find many Palo Alto residents who will criticize Obama but I for one could not agree with you more.

two cents: "probably wont find many Palo Alto residents who will criticize Obama"

on one side, you could broaden your statement to include the entire state, which rejected "leftie" McCain by a wide margin.

on the other side, you can find a LOT of dems and lefties to criticize the President. He's a centrist. He has rarely stood up for the middle class. Many thought he was a true progressive, or at least hoped he was.

Notice that gary and thanks gary don't list any substantiated facts, other than the gdp numbers that are a carryover from the bush recession that was losing 800,000 jobs a month when Bush left office.

2 leading Democratic strategies write today in WSJ that Obama should not seek a second term--for the good of the country.

Obama is clearly in way over his head and for some reason he was never properly vetted.

The WSJ article strongly recommended Hillary Clinton as the Dem candidate in 2012--she is certainly more competent

-but we need a more radical change of vision, leadership and policy.

Two SELF-PROCLAIMED "Democratic strategists" that haven't had a Dem job in years and show up on Fox. They couldn't get Bill (their former boss, they did some polling for him over a decade ago) or Hillary to take their calls.

They wrote the exact SAME article exactly a year ago, but just added the Hillary twist to avoid plagiarizing completely their former factless op-ed: Web Link

Watching Fox news makes you dumber.

"A new Fairleigh Dickinson PublicMind Poll finds that the Sunday morning political shows on television "do the most to help people learn about current events, while some outlets, especially Fox News, lead people to be even less informed than those who they don't watch any news at all."

Web Link

""For example, people who watch Fox News, the most popular of the 24-hour cable news networks, are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government than those who watch no news at all (after controlling for other news sources, partisanship, education and other demographic factors). Fox News watchers are also 6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government than those who watch no news."

These results mirror a University of Maryland study published last year."

recap: Watch Fox and be less informed than those that don't watch anything.

Why do far right fringe conservatives distrust science? Distrust facts?

Can't see the reality normal folk see?

Matty: "Watching Fox news makes you dumber. "A new Fairleigh Dickinson PublicMind Poll finds...." "

Boy Howdy! Doesn't lower their IQ, according to their study, it just misinforms the Fox watchers.

Gary: "Can't blame Fox...."

So Gary thinks Chris Mathews is the new Oracle of Delphi? You go, Gary!!! Try and watch an hour of Mathews, it's as unpalatable as a whole hour of o'reilly or that other guy.

Since Gary thinks everything Mathews says is gospel, I'll agree, starting with this one from Mathews: "The GOP presidential field is a bunch of loons!"

And this week, Mathews talked about the GOP fringe voters like Gary and the ones listed above, on why they can't chose 1 or 2 candidates to rally around: "They hate....They hate so much they are not in the mood to fall in love with a candidate or even fall in behind someone."

Lefties drank the kool aid many decades ago, but it didn't kill them off...just prolonged the pain for the rest of us, who refused to partake, or (like me) took an antidote.

The interesting thing is that a lefty like Matthews is seeing through the mist. I thought it was worth mentioning, especially if it gets the current local lefties to complain about the burr under their saddles.

I am also having a truly great time watching the lefties destroy themselves at the various "occupy" encampments. I have much to be thankful for, tomorrow, at my turkey dinner.

I can tell that new age lefties have no concept about police tactics to remove a sit-in type of mob. Back in the day, us lefties expected tear gas and batons! Of course we were willing to fight, toe-to-toe. Powderpuff whining does not impress me. However, my joy about the 'occupy' encampments is that they are completely lacking in any coherent strategy, thus they will self destruct...and that makes me happy!

"...is that they are completely lacking in any coherent strategy, thus they will self destruct...and that makes me happy!"

Odd coincidence.... exactly my thoughts on the GOP presidential field.

Occupy was petering out several times in the last couple months, if left alone they would have been gone by now. The only thing that reinvigorates them is the various assaults, harassment and brutality. Witness OWS and the police at the Brooklyn bridge incident; Occupy and it's reaction to the Oakland storm troopers; Occupy and the assaults on peaceful protesters in Davis.

Gary conveniently ignores the guidelines listed above by kelt: "The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, which advises police agencies and officers statewide, says pepper spray "can have very serious and debilitating consequences," and "should only be generally used as a defensive weapon" and never to intimidate or retaliate. "

"if left alone they would have been gone by now"

WRONG! They would still be stinking up the streets and destroying small businesses and hampering regualr citizen, who live nearby. The only time they leave is when the cops raid their camps, and push them out. Tear gas is a mild way to disrupt them. Or would you prefer Tasers or batons? No middle class wife of a cop should have to worry about her husband coming home safely, if he is assigned to clear up a bunch of lefties, who are breaking the law.

Nice try Gary. Another epic fail.

How many occupy protests have resulted in a cop killed? It's not like the tea bagger in Pittsburg that killed those cops, or the Beck supporter on 580 on his way to shoot up the tides foundation, or the rightwing nut who drove his plan into a Federal building in Texas, or any of the other rightwing extremists violence going back to Oklahoma City.

Back in my day, there was Bill Ayers (Obama's current friend and mentor)...and he was relatively mild. There was a ton of leftie mayhem back then. The Left has lost the ideological battle, now they are a shadow of their parents' cause. [Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.]
