Gas pipe linked to Cupertino explosion being replaced in Palo Alto

A type of polyethylene pipe implicated in an Aug. 31 Cupertino condominium gas explosion also is used in south Palo Alto, city utilities spokeswoman Debra Katz confirmed.

PG&E says don't be concerned, so why did this story making the news?
