Thieves break into Palo Verde school, steal keys

Thieves broke into Palo Verde Elementary School and stole several classroom keys and possibly two computers Sunday (Aug. 21), Palo Alto police said.

From reading the articles about the recent school break-ins, it appears our schools are not equipped with alarms. It would be a significant up-fron expense, but recent events suggest it would soon pay for itself.

Even just putting in alarms based on internal motion sensors, and perhaps adding a few security cameras, could have a strong effect.
