Palo Alto FTTH pundits shown mistaken

Some years ago, a concerted effort was made to "diss" wireless technologies, with local self-appointed "leaders" claiming that Shannon's Law was fundamental to the limitations of wireless communications - and that wireless communications would never meet the forward bandwidth needs of consumers. This was all before the wireless revolution.
A few brave souls tried to make a point that Shannon was not the last word, going forward, on wireless carrying capacity; those who dared challenge the established order were soundly mocked by the local "experts" in City Council meetings, and in the press - with even this newspaper's editor-in-chief supporting them.
It should be noted that many of the old "fiber experts" have now been officially shown to be wrong. In fact, fiber is a great technology, and those self-appointed local "experts" have, over years, been shown to be wrong.
