International Singalong Celebrates Cultural Diversity at Stevenson House
Original post made by ThomasMPamilla on Jun 28, 2011
Talent show performances included a beautiful piano solo as well as amazing vocal performances spanning multiple styles and languages. Everyone at the event joined together to sing songs from around the world including popular Russian song "Moscow Nights", Irish tribute song "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling", well-known Cuban song "Guantanamera", South African "Pata-Pata" and "California Here I Come" (our unofficial state song).
The event demonstrated how music transcends age, language and background, connecting people unlike anything else. For over 40 years, Stevenson House has provided affordable housing in Palo Alto for a diverse group of low-income seniors, where they are able to live independently and age with dignity.
