Acc. to the news the morning, the US Supreme Court OK'd the release of 46,000
- that's FORTY-SIX THOUSAND - criminals from the California penal system to help overcrowding and the fact that prisoners don't get fast enough medical treatment, etc. Batten down the hatches. This is going to get nasty.

46000 who have no realistic hope of ever getting a decent job with a future, and with virtually no support system to help them turn their lives around. So, not too worry. The bulk of them will be back in the system very soon after they are released. It will be good for the correctional industry, though, soon to be privatized completely. It's already essentially a cottage industry in states like Texas and Florida. California won't be far behind once Jerry figures out the only way to balance the budget without raising taxes is to off-load a lot of government employees along with their gilded retirement and benefits packages.
