I'm not sure I understand how working in front of a school after it has started "minimize traffic impact" How about working on it when school isn't in session (Christmas or Thanksgiving holidays, summer break?). Not to mention, do they really think construction equipment is quiet? I'm sure those kids will have to listen to this repair all day while in class. Whoever planned this repair job is a very poor thinker!
